Tea & Social Craft Table

For our Tea & Social, we wanted to have a couple of simple DIYs for our guests to do.  Upon sign in, each guest received a list itinerary, name tag, and a 10 page plain notebook. Along with providing a basket full of washi tape for the journals (we handmade) we provided some stamps. This is the designlovefest make it project that we referenced. The second was painting bobby pins with nail polish.

Our guests loved them both!

Tea & Social Photobooth

Photo booths are a necessary to do for everyone of our events. They're entertaining for guests, memorable and easy given the correct equipment.

The backdrop

As themed and festive our gatherings are, we try to think of equally as fitting backdrops for our photo booth.  For our tea & social we went with a design sponge diy for the tissue paper flowers. (Made by friends Caitlin and Andrea. Thanks for the help gals!) We staple gunned 1/4 inch square fencing wire to the side of my parent's garage and put the stem part through the wire to secure.

The props

This time we went with standard mustaches, a couple of thought bubbles and one little paper fox.  Like the idea for the backdrop I like to keep the props in line with the theme. I love frames (more on that later) and had an empty frame as a prop that I found while thrifting. I also had a decorative wooden ampersand that was perfect.

Our favorite snaps
As you can see, everyone had such a good time snapping away.

Later this week we will give you a rundown of our equipment set-up!

Tea & Social's Raffle!

Our raffle during our Tea & Social was a lot of fun. We had an array of prizes but one of our favorites was our screen printed DIT&O shirts. Karissa did a great job screen printing them. We also screen printed a really cute American Apparel tote! (That was one of my favorite prizes.) We had candles, stationary, tea (!), and mugs. It was a successful raffle. Thank you to everyone who participated!

Tea & Social Paper

I love looking at the pictures from our #teatimewithDITO.  The pictures that Ashley and Dee Dee captured are beautiful and depict the day so perfectly.

I went with a hand written look for the postcard and continued the theme throughout the other printed paper we needed.  My favorite to illustrate was the itinerary, I just loved the "to do list" because we love lists and being able to check off things you did that day is fun!

Upon sign in each guest received a notebook, the day's itinerary and a questionnaire I created for fun.  They were so much fun to read and really informative!

Drumroll pleasssssssse, here are some of the results of the questionnaire questions:

It was fun to see what everyone is reading and interested in (other than DIT&O, of course).

We still have so much to share about the #teatimewithDITO!
Until then,

Poor Man's Chili

We were really smart about our planning of the Tea and Social. We planned on making a crockpot recipe, something easy, so when the Tea & Social had ended we would have dinner ready!

Christina's sister, Natalie, had this long period of time when she would make crockpot recipes everyday. They're so simple, you just add all of the ingredients and leave it! Natalie became so knowledgable about crockpot recipes she wanted to share her findings. A simple recipe that she shared with Christina was Poor Man's Chili.

The recipe was perfect for dinner after the Tea & Social. Once all of the vendors had packed up and gone home, we were left, tired and able to reflect on the day.  We grabbed some tea (chai + soy milk) and sat with delicious chili.

This recipe is so easy and Karissa wanted to post it today because she made it on Sunday for a potluck and while browsing Instagram yesterday she saw 3 bowls of chili! (one of them was a pumpkin chili... intriguing)

The Recipe

1 (15-ounce) can black beans, drained
1 (15-ounce) can garbanzo beans, drained
1 (15-ounce) can kidney beans, drained
1 (15-ounce) can corn, drained
1 (24-ounce) jar prepared pasta sauce
1 cup baby tomatoes
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon corriander
1 teaspoon tumeric
1 cinnamon stick

Instructions

Put it all in a crock pot for 7 hours on low or 4 hours on high.  And what you will get in return is delicious, spicy, flavorful chili. (that's VEGAN- if you get pasta sauce without meat)  We topped ours off with guacamole, because what doesn't taste good with avocado?! (Don't answer that)

We hope you enjoy this yummy recipe!
